Six Pack Abs by Summer: Day 5

This is Day 5 of my ‘get flat stomach by the end of June’ thing. I’m doing it eating one meal a day and I’ve set myself a great challenge to do 10,000 push ups and run a marathon– 1.5 miles at a time, all by the end of the month.

I’ve got 25 days left to achieve my goals.

Today’s Stats:

June 5th 2012

Weight: 172.8 lbs (Down .8)
Chest: 38.75 (Down .25)
Belly: 34.75 (No change)
Waist: 34.5 (No change)
Hips: 37 (No change)

My weight is down into the 172s for the first time in a long time and that’s something to be happy about.

Unusually for me I’ve been unwell today. Sore throat, aching joints, headache and later in the day upset stomach.

I had some of the symptoms at the start and the others started later. I felt too weak to go hard at the push ups but I still managed to do 200. I also managed to go for a 1.5 mile run despite not feeling great.

None of those things were my biggest problem today. My biggest problem today was going to a social function where there’s an expectation that you’ll eat the food that your host has provided for you.

It seems rude to leave a lot of food on your plate when someone has gone to the trouble of preparing a lovely meal.

I ate more than I would have eaten normally, but it was great food and we had a nice time.

And hopefully I’ll feel better tomorrow because over the next 2 days I want to catch up on the push ups before it gets out of control.
