Six Pack Abs by Summer: Day 19

in Health & Fitness

This is Day 19 of my attempt to get a flat stomach by the end of June. I’m doing it eating one meal a day and I’ve set myself a challenge to do 10,000 push ups and run a marathon– 1.5 miles at a time, all by the end of the month.

I’ve got 11 days left to achieve my goals.

Today’s Stats:

June 19th 2012

Weight: 174 lbs
Chest: 39.25
Belly: 34.25
Waist: 34.25
Hips: 37

The bloat is abating, but I’m not celebrating… yet

I’m glad to see the effect of the bloat diminishing, but I’m still paying the price for my lost weekend.

It’s a scary thing, even though I have experienced it before.

You can feel like you’ve done irreparable damage to your diet, whereas it’s actually only a temporary condition.

It feels uncomfortable.

It looks terrible.

But once you get back on track the effects fade and you get back to normal.

That’s how I’m feeling today. I feel like I’m getting back to normal but I know I still have some work to do.

Loin girding

I’ve had a word with myself.

I’ve girded my loins.

I’ve psyched myself up.

And I feel ready to hit the last days of this challenge hard and see how far I can get.

This is not the time to experiment, Professor Bloatworthy! What were you thinking?

For a while there I was experimenting with grazing, but as I’ve just discovered it’s a skill I haven’t mastered yet.

Which leads ne to the conclusion that now is not the time to mess around with the plan, man!

There were a number of contributory factors that led to the bloat inducing binge, but surely one of them was messing with a tried and tested formula at a crucial point. Don’t do it!

Back to eating only once a day – and I don’t care if you don’t like it

If you don’t like it, that’s tough. This is my diet, not yours. You go get your own!

So, I’ve returned to what I know I can do, and that’s eat one main meal during the day.

The same rules still apply though — if I feel very hungry or very weak, I’ll eat a snack. Something like a piece of fruit or veg and only about 100 calories. But I am going to try to eat just once. One fantastic meal between 5 and 6 pm. Roast chicken is on the menu for today, with roast potatoes and a big pile of vegetables.

Making the best use of the time I have left (no, not on the planet — although that’s a good idea too)

I’m writing this at the start of the day, so although I’ve only got a full 11 days left, there’s still plenty of time today to make a difference.

I’m going to go for a new record with the push ups.

I’ve fallen behind a little so it seems like a good time to have some fun and see if I can blow my old record of 600 push ups out of the water. And just in case you’re wondering, they’re spread throughout the day! Could you imagine the pain of trying to do them all in one go?

Marathon, schmarathon!

I have only 3 miles left to run to complete my marathon (1.5 miles at a time).

But please hit me now, because I’m starting to think there’s enough time to get in a half marathon by the end of the month! That’s a crazy notion, right?

Bloaty, squidgy, podgy picture

I’m still looking a little bloaty and waterlogged in the photo (and pale as ever). My measurements are all up as is my weight, but by Thursday I should have nullified the effects on my crazy weekend.

More weight loss pictures?

So that is what you did…. Where is that wet noodle?
600 push ups in a day, let me know how that goes. I was almost motivated to do a few push ups yesterday, but that soon passed. I am working up to possible start doing something. Sounds pretty determined doesn’t?
I say go for the additional half marathon, you have smoked the full one already. Piece of pudding as I say, maybe I shouldn’t say that though.
Very nice going, keep it up, you have it in the bag more then you think.

I would love a piece of pudding, thank you.

Oh, I see, it’s just a turn of phrase, not an actual piece of pudding.

*Wipes drool from face*

Good news! I broke my record for the push ups and I will definitely be tagging on the half marathon. I may never have a month like this again, so I should make the absolute best of the opportunity.

“I was almost motivated to do a few push ups yesterday, but that soon passed.” That cracked me up, Bryan. LOL

I am simply amazed at what you are doing and I am not easily impressed.
(I do love that saying, A piece of pudding)
