If you didn’t start your diet today, January 1st 2013, start it tomorrow.

If you intended to start today but the occasion got the better of you, don’t worry about it.

There are certain days in the year to celebrate with food and this is one of them. So if you’re expecting the diet police to smash down your door, I can assure you it’s not going to happen.

I’ve been back on my diet for a few days and deliberately took today off and I’m re-starting tomorrow.

In fact re-starting pretty much sums up my whole experience of losing weight.

So if you were supposed to start dieting today but you’ve already fallen off the wagon, you must absolutely not get into all the negative self-talk and recriminations. It’s just one day, it’s just a diet, and means only what you decide it means.

It probably means you’re only human, so give yourself a break and save the beatings for one of the other three hundred and fifty or so days when you don’t have a good excuse.

Start tomorrow, and if necessary, start again the day after.

From tomorrow I’ll be back to writing about my weight loss and I’ve started a new physical challenge to get the year off to a great start.

Hello, happy new year and welcome back! I’m in a very positive frame of mind (if you read my New Year’s Eve post I was less positive on Monday night). Since then things have started moving and, after a couple of months of letting thing go completely on the diet front, I had a good dieting day yesterday and lost 500g (1lb) A nice incentive to keep going. New year new resolve. Good luck with your challenges which I look forward to reading about. xxx
