Last week was great (week 1) but I don't think I've lost anything this week - I slipped into 2 meals and a late night snack (or snacks). Eating very little today to at least not have put on any and will tey to do better next week. Thanks for asking. And I agree with your reply that my comment only applies to the first 1 or 2 weeks of a diet.

I think this is where my dislike of weighing scales comes from. I think it's true at the start of a diet that a lot of the weight lost is fluid, which of course is easily replaced, and this is why it can be disheartening if the scale is the only measure.

A lot of people record huge losses in the first week or two of dieting as they get rid of 'the bloat'. There's a lot of excess water and of course the contents of their over-full digestive system, so there's also a fair amount of 'waste' to be counted in the initial weight loss.

Over an extended period of time though, like the four weeks that I shared, I had already gone through that water shedding phase and bloat removal, having lost 20lbs over several weeks, so I'm more inclined to believe that the greater percentage of the weight I lost was indeed fat.

If you recall, the scale weight was all over the place veering wildly and I think this is the water weight at work on a daily basis. But over the whole period it all averaged out.

It's a great point you raise though and I think you're spot on. Definitely something to keep in mind!!

So how are you doing on two meals a day? :D

The problem is that when we have lost 5lbs of weight we haven't lost 5lbs of fat as the first few pounds are usually water loss. You have to lose nearer to 10lbs in weight it lose the amount of fat pictured. It is a huge amount though I agree.
