This is Day 2 of One Meal a Day to Six-Pack Abs.
Yesterday was the first day of my diet.
I was absolutely desperate to stick to my eating plan no matter what, for one reason and one reason only – so that I could tell myself that I had the best possible start to my diet.
Don’t underestimate how powerful it is to be able to have that little line running through your head as you’re contemplating how the rest of your diet is going to pan out.
I set the bar high on purpose and even though it was tough I did it. There was no way I was going to fail!
I’ve been on a maintenance diet for a few weeks now which means I haven’t been quite so careful about the extra snacks that float into my diet. A cookie here and a chocolate there, seems innocuous, and it is if you’re trying to maintain, but if you’re trying to lose weight those things soon add up.
It’s more than that though, it’s the damage it does to your mindset and your resolve.
So yesterday I was ultra strict even though there was one point my stomach was screaming at me! It passed, I knew it would because I’ve been there before. My body soon learns it’s going to get fed one fabulous meal later in the day and it doesn’t grumble quite so much throughout the day.
Sometimes I wonder if there’s a Pavlov’s Dogs thing going on?!
I finished the day on a big win and I felt good about it.
There’s no better way to start the first day of your diet and there’s no better way lead into your second day.
But if you loused up your first day you can fix it.
You just make sure you do it the next day.
Yes, you start again. You have a new first day!
Don’t lose the opportunity to make it count, or the fix loses it’s power.
Come on! Tough it out! Put in one exceptional day and feel good about it.
Do it once and you can do it again.
