save yourself

There are things in your life that are causing you pain.

You can see them coming in advance.

You know they’re going to hit you.

And yet you do nothing about it.

You’re frozen and numb.

The reason you don’t do anything?

You believe that it’s too late and any action you take will be futile.

There are so many things you need to sort out and you know you can’t do it in an hour or even a day.

You know that even if you had a solid week of uninterrupted time you still couldn’t do everything you need to do.

You wonder where it ends and conclude that it never does, so why bother?

You feel that any problem you solve will soon be replaced by another one.

So you do nothing…

…and you let the pain hit you, wave after wave.

The constant nature of this battering erodes your spirit and drags you to your knees.

And waves keep hitting you.

Of course, you’re right!

The pain will keep coming and you’ll face more problems.

As things are now, you’re not strong enough to take it, and it will eventually drag you under.

You have two choices…

You can wait until it does (and it will), or you can do something about it before it happens.

What can you do?

It’s a small act, but it’s so important.

SAVE YOURSELF.

Forget everything else and save yourself.

Make the decision.

That’s the small act. Deciding to save yourself – not giving in – deciding to persist – deciding to prevail.

It’s a tiny thing but only you can do it.

You don’t have to take it anymore.

Feel the fire of life burning within you.

Save yourself.

When the waves of pain have finally knocked you off your feet.

Find something to grab hold of.

Something that gives you hope and a fighting chance.

Cling on to it for dear life.

Just one thing that you do for you.

Something that’s yours and that nobody else can take away from you.

-

Now… I have no idea how far gone you are. You may need some professional help, and if you do, then for heaven’s sake go get it today.

None of what I’ve said here means that you have to abandon anybody else or become totally self absorbed. All I’m asking you to do is to finally take responsibility for yourself and the rest will come.

Plenty of people have been dragged under the waves only to emerge stronger and more formidable for the experience and I have no reason to believe that it should be any different for you.

Be a survivor! Please. The world needs you.

Waiting for overnight success

“The wilderness is the term for the years (or decades) that a founder/entrepreneur/artist/technology must spend being ignored and unfunded before the breakthrough of overnight success occurs.” I like this because it gives a little perspective. It’s tempting to think that years spent learning new skills and building a home based business have been wasted simply [...]
